RAF NEWTON - ECO TOWN ?
The Crown Estate have contacted the Government to submit plans for an Eco-Town at the site of RAF Newton near Bingham in Rushcliffe. There has been speculation that this site would replace the earlier one proposed by a developer at Kingston-on Soar since the Government rejected this site but in an unprecedented move decided to retain “a site” in Rushcliffe in the final fifteen.
The Crown Estate will now enter a period of consulatation and will set up a web site at www.newtonecotown.com during the week of 23rd June. It is important that local residents contribute to this consultation be it for or against.
